Lostman Area

Lostman Lake and the Williams Range.
I made several forays into this area over the summer. First of which was an overnight mission with friend Kevin Dunkleberg to climb Billybob Peak, the highest summit in the Williams Range (just under 13,400). Second was a mission to get photographs of Grizzly Peak and Independence Pass from the 13,000+ foot ridgeline north of Independence Pass. Third was a mission to photograph Lostman Lake from the ridgeline to its east. Fourth was to traverse Geissler Mountain. And fifth was a hike up Mount Massive, my only 14er summit of the year. I'd been to Mt. Massive's 14,000+ foot west summit, but never to its main summit. I also wanted to scout more closely a ridgeline traverse from Mt. Elbert to Mt. Massive. This would make a 30+ mile day hike over lots of 13,000+ summits. This hike is high on my list.
