ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I could not have attempted this trip without the help of the millions of people I have seen, heard, felt, or in some way sensed in my lifetime. You have all affected my being and helped make me who I am today. I like a lot of what I see in the world, and I am deeply troubled and confused by a lot of it as well.
A special thanks to those who helped me directly with this trip. First off, Mom and Dad dropped me off and picked me up (with uncanny timing) several times, always with garden fresh produce! My sister and brother-in-law, Mandi and Sean, in Glenwood Springs offered me temporary shelter and modern conveniences (including computer equipment) throughout the summer. My friend Nathan gave me valuable rides to remote locations. Kevin joined me for my longest tour--8 days through the Sawatch and Elk ranges. I am most grateful for the love and support of my girlfriend Leah. She gave me rides, picked me up, relaxed with me on breaks from the trail and joined me out there a couple of times as well!
More generally, I treasure the love and support of My Family. Those not yet mentioned are: siblings Marci, and Doug; in-laws Kevin, and Becky; niece Kelsi and nephews Callan and Ian; deceased grandparents Byron and Mary Louise Yule, and Avery and Marion Bice (Grandpa Bice used to amaze me as a tot by wandering off into the woods without a map or trail but still knowing where he was going); my third grandma Dorris, Avery's second wife; and all of you crazy aunts, uncles, and cousins!
My friends: Roommates, rafters, bikers, skiers and snowboarders, neighbors, kayakers, rock climbers, rock stars, backpackers, yogis, fisherpeople, laborers, cooks, gardeners, musicians, actors, con-artists, classmates, Kings, Queens, Princes, and Princesses!
Assistance with this web page: My father and the people at Infovision--Denise Fisher, Lee Lassen, and Dianna VanDenBerg.
And all of the friendly people I meet along the way...
